In the 2018 Fall Homes issue, Interior Design detailed the “minimalist, contemplative vibe” of SKYVAULT, the 38th-floor Lincoln Park penthouse that dSPACE transformed with the help of Ruth Johnson Interiors. With a focus on holism and an attentiveness to complex detailing, “the space just flows.” Embracing the arched windows and existing vault details, the modern design mimics the sweeping lines in a newly created doorway to the master suite and curvaceous metal shelving in the study and living room. “We wanted the interior and the views to take center stage, so this was an exercise in restraint,” notes founder and principal architect Kevin Toukoumidis, who collaborated with principal Tom Hagerty on the project. “In our refined approach to residential architecture, we wanted to select materials to provide a sense of depth to the minimal space.”
